Dear Friends,

Having been involved in The County Of Los Angeles Department Of Public Social Services and in government since 1992, I have long worked for positive change in the United States and in the State of California.  My family and I now feel that the time has come for me to seek elected office of Governor of the State of California.  I want to bring fresh ideas and positive solutions by running for Governor of the State of California.

As you know, I have always been very concerned about creating partnership with the gaming industry to promote and improve legalization of gambling, legalizing marijuana and lowering the alcohol drinking age to 18 years of age for the State of California.  I believe there are workable solutions available that will enhance qualities related to making California economy much stronger.

This campaign will require a strong and organized grassroots organization.  I am currently taping and recording campaign commercials.  With brochures, flyers, yard signs, advertising at bus stops, radio and television commercials, and the State of California to canvass, I cannot do this alone.  That’s why I’m inviting the people of this great country to join my campaign and help make a real difference.

An early contribution of $25, $50, $100, $250, $500 or $5000, made payable to “Derek Folley For California Governor 2010 Committee”, will help raise the initial funds needed to launch the campaign.  We hope to raise $15,000,000 by June 30, 2010.  I ask for your support in meeting this goal.

It is the fact that I am doing something positive for my career in public service.  I am doing something positive for the State of California.  I think that a great deal of individuals know what they want to do.  However, there is a lot of opposition that want to hold them back.  If you can keep on striving for your goals, you can show the world what you can do.  There is no obstacle that can not be accomplished.  Anything can happen.  It can be difficult but not impossible.

In California, it is legal to operate medical marijuana dispensaries.  I believe that the government should be in partnership with such business.  While the cities are waging war against the owners of such business, it is actually hurting the economy rather than enhancing it.  As governor of California, I would give these businesses a full and absolute pardon protecting them from the local city governments.  By legalizing marijuana in the state of California and taxing at a rate of 15%, we would bring money into the state of California rather going further into debt.  Amount of my that will come into California off such an legalization will eliminate the raising of taxes that is currently being place or will be those in Sacramento. 

Certainly, Nevada has made a great deal from the legalization of gambling.  However, the Indian reservations in the State of California obtain a substantial amount of revenue from their loyal customers.  Legalization of gambling as a whole would bring in enough revenue to help the education community in the state.  Rather it is poker, craps, sports betting, we as Californians should be in partnership with businesses.  There should be no age limit.

By being the only state in the Union to lower the drinking age to 18, it would create a monopoly on tourist from other states and countries.  In actuality, their money will come to California.  They will spend their vacation in California.  Independent Candidate Derek Folley (Foley) is a Governor that fix California trouble deficit.   The taxes generated from marijuana, gambling, and those from the ages of 18 to 20 that drink alcohol would save jobs and create them as well.

I would use part of these funds to offer government employees a golden handshake towards retirement.  Each time an individual retires from public service would create someone to be either promoted or to be hired on as a new employee.  Thus, everybody is happy in a win-win scenario.

I need 10,000 signatures of register voters of Los Angeles County Recorder Office by the 7th of June 2010 or $10,000 endorse to Los Angeles County by the above date.

From June 7, 2010 to the first week of August 2010
As an independent candidate, I will need over 175,000 signature to have my name on the ballot for the General Election in November 2010. I would need volunteers to go to the Registrar of Voters, County Clerk, or County Clerk-Recorder-Registrar Office in your county and circulate nomination papers for signatures and leave them for examination with the county elections official of the county in which the signers reside.

Understand that many Candidates are quick to layoff hard working state employees due to the fact that someone mismanage the budget. There are other options that can put State of California in the surplus in pursuant to its budget. Laying off hard working Americans is not a way to solve a problem. In fact it is a recipe that will create more problems. Take a look through my site and see the answer to this enigma that is known as the California budget. The corporation inside my circle will bring more job to California. My agenda will bring enough revenue that there will be no lay off and that system will greatly benefit.
